Equipment

  • Cast Iron Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1 pound Ahi Tuna 2 (6-7 ounce) fillets
  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Green Beans

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 2 cups green beans long-stem petite – thawed and drained if frozen
  • 1/4 cup liquid aminos

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine paprika, turmeric, coriander, ground ginger, sea salt, and white pepper.
  • Rub 3/4 of the seasoning mixture all over Ahi fillets. Rub each fillet with oil, then divide rest of seasoning blend evenly between fillets, making sure to fully coat tops, bottoms, and sides of fish.
  • Heat cast iron skillet, or large sauté pan, over medium high heat. Once pan is hot, add Ahi fillets and cook 3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove Ahi to separate plate, to rest, and turn down heat on skillet to medium low.
  • Once skillet has cooled some, add olive oil. Add minced ginger, stirring constantly to keep from burning, and cook until fragrant (about 20 seconds).
  • Add green beans and liquid aminos and continue stirring and cooking until green beans have darkened some and are desired texture.
  • Plate Ahi Tuna with green beans, serve, and enjoy!
